This 2D Fighter was made created in tandem with Shey Bala using Unity Version Control. This served as our sophmore year midterm.
Our goal for this game was to create something that was based on the sport of Karate while also envoking the feeling of a classical era 2D fighter, much like Street Fighter 2 or X-Men: Children of the Atom.
A feature of the game that we wanted to focus on was the ability for players to be able to enjoy
KU-MITE without another player present. To be able to play against CPUs and practice their skills or just enjoy themselves casually. I was able to bring that idea to life using a pretty simple State Machine.
The CPU is able to swap between attack and chase states at will. The CPU is able to check the distance between the player and itself; additonally the computer attack states are controlled with the state machine and timers that dictate when they will and wont strike
There was previously blocking functionality but that ended up being removed from the game during development.
